Landimpact designs food growing gardens for new properties or as a retrofit for an existing garden, or a space within a garden - the design process is primarily focussed on creating productive gardens. We are not about elaborate or grandiose designs, rather we offer simple, minimal and practical ideas.

With that in mind Paul focuses on low-impact, holistic design that incorporates productive elements such as fruit trees and vines, annual vegetables, productive and beneficial perennials. Supporting this might be structural elements such as access paths, composting areas, greenhouses, pergolas, shade and pest protection and irrigation for plants etc. He encourages the use of recycled and/or second-hand materials and/or products from sustainable sources. Each design is individual, reflecting the client’s site and surrounds, their needs and budget.

Paul is also passionate about designing native gardens using local provenance plants that incorporate bush foods and productive elements mentioned above.

We use permaculture ethics and principles to guide our designs

..this simply ensures a holistic and ecological sustainable approach to design.

The Design Process:
An initial meeting at your home or site will define your brief for the design - this begins with an initial consultation to share ideas and provide direction, particularly if you are unsure or need more discussion to determine where to start and/or a way forward
Once there is agreement on a design direction then a site analysis, site survey and soil analysis can be undertaken. Using the information collected on-site, Paul will develop a concept plan either using CAD or by hand - subject to size of project and/or level of detail required. The plan will highlight the agreed design components and planting layouts. At a subsequent meeting there would be an opportunity to refine and finalise any design or planting layouts.

Paul holds a Diploma of Garden Design (2007), Diploma of Horticulture (2008), Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC - 2023) and Builders Licence BLD37013
